The model was from life but the background was made up. I am kind of known for combining the two together; but I feel like that what being an artist is all about - sharing your realities.

Around Town

I have spent all day on this; my first time Blogging, so I have a lot to learn.

I am in three shows around town, but want to recommend to you to go up to Gainesville, Ga. and see the Southeastern Pastel Show; it is at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center, until the 8th of Oct. It is just wonderful, the judge was Marc Hanson (he is not only a good judge but a talented and internationally known artist). Oh yes, I was honored to win a Merit Award for my painting "ST Simmons Plein Air" - it is the one with the two figures in it (haven't learned how to put the captions at the bottom of the pictures yet!)
